Manjot Singh Reveals Being Out Of Work For 2 Years After Fukrey’s Success; Says This Situation Gave Him A Reality Check
Manjot Singh who shot to fame with his portrayal, Lali in Furkey revealed being out of work for two years after his successful film. Debuting in Bollywood with the movie, Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! that earned him a Filmfare Critics Award, he spoke about the hardships he faced after he stepped into Bollywood during a conversation with Times Now Digital.  The Fukrey Returns actor shared starting at the age of 16, he got many film offers, but things slowed down after Fukrey's release.

He said, “When I started (my career), I was 16, that time I got a lot of films. After Fukrey, I think  ek time aaya tha ke mere paas do saal tak kaam nahi tha (there was a time when I did not get work for 2 years).” Manjot states being in a situation that the offers coming his way he did not wish to sign those and the ones he was expecting did not come his way. “So, the offers that were coming I didn't wish to do and I things I wanted to do, weren't coming my way I was not satisfied with the offers I was getting,” adds the actor.

Recalling that particular phase of his career he mentioned that he was studying and minting money,  but these 2 years in his career gave him a reality check. “So that was a phase where I felt easy nahi hai. Sitting at home, I  was studying and at the same time, I was getting films. I was earning good money too, (I thought) life is amazing. But reality check tab pata chalta (you get the reality check) when you have to wait for the right thing,” shared the actor.


Student of the Year 2 actor recalled an incident when he was trolled online after he posted a picture without a turban when he was at a party. This led to people assuming the actor chopping off his hair, fortunately, later he posted something on his social media account, that clarified the netizens’ confusion.
